At our last meeting, many of us took home lots of donated yarn to make projects through the winter, and much of that yarn was bulky/super bulky weight. Since most of our patterns are written for worsted weight, it seemed like a good idea to share a simple bulky weight pattern this month. You will need US 10-11 needles (16 inch circular and double points) and about 2 ounces of bulky weight yarn. (Remember you can always hold multiple strands together to get bulky weight.) You can find the hat pattern HERE . We will meet Wednesday, November 9 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. I think the remaining donated yarn will be there, so if you missed out last month, make sure to come and take some home!

October meeting, books, and LOTS of yarn

We had a very large donation of yarn to our group, and Giselle will be bringing it to the October meeting. Come prepared to take some (or a lot!) home with you for your Community Knitting projects! Our October project is mittens, pattern HERE . You will need bulky weight WOOL yarn (wool is best for mittens, doesn't have to be machine washable) and US 9, 10, or 10.5 (5.5-6.5 mm) double point needles, plus a cable needle (or extra DPN). If you don't have bulky weight, you can hold together two strands of DK weight, or a strand of worsted and a strand of fingering weight, or whatever combination gets you something like bulky. If you don't have wool, or mittens are just not your thing, we can always use more hats. We are also accepting new or gently used children's books to include with our holiday donations, so feel free to bring som
