August and September Blanket Squares

Hi all, For anyone participating in the 24 in 24 blanket square project, here are your blanket square patterns for August and September. If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, you can read all about it in this post from January 2024 . Please feel free to make any or all of the squares, there's no commitment or special deadlines! And remember, they're actually rectangles, no need to make them square as long as they're 10 inches in length.  At the end of the year, I'm going to pull all these together into one big formatted pattern with some instructions for arranging/joining/collaborating. Stay tuned for that!   August Squares SQUARE 15: EYELETS Cast on a multiple of 4 stitches plus 3. Row 1: Knit Row 2: Purl Row 3: (K2, K2tog, YO) to last 3 sts, K3. Row 4: Purl Repeat these 4 rows until piece measures 10 inches from cast on, ending with a Row 2.  SQUARE 16: GARTER AND SLIP STITCH Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches plus 4. September Bears

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, September 11, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making bears again! You can find the pattern  HERE   and there will also be paper copies available. You will need to bring worsted weight yarn and US 5 or 6 (3.75 or 4 mm) double pointed needles along with a row counter and a darning (yarn) needle. Roxana will be doing a demo starting at 3:00. She will supply stuffing and yarn for the faces.  Remember hats are always welcome if you're not up for making a bear. There are plenty of hat patterns in the archives that you can look through.  For everyone doing the 24 in 24 blanket squares project, I still owe you August and now September blanket square patterns. Thank you for your patience! I will get them out in their own post/email soon.
