Correction to July mitten pattern

I just updated the mitten pattern from July to include a correction (it's in round 5 of the gusset for the right mitten). Note that the revised pattern has a revision date in the upper right of the first page.   You can go directly to the revised pattern HERE , and it has also been corrected in the original post .

Next meeting July 13: Mittens

Our next meeting is Wednesday, July 13, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making Chunky Mittens with a Seed Stitch Insert provided by Diana. You can find the pattern HERE .  You'll need to bring 3 1/2 ounces of bulky weight wool yarn and double point needles in US 9, 10, or 10.5.   If you're more of a novice knitter or you just want a simple project, we can always use more hats. Feel free to dig into the archives to find a hat pattern that suits you. Remember that Judy from Shuttles will be at the meeting this month with some Encore yarn for sale (it's a favorite for charity projects).  Hope you can make it! Future Community Knitting dates to put on your calendar: August 10, 2022 September 14, 2022 October 12, 2022 November 9, 2022 December 14, 2022 January 11, 2023

June meeting next week: A scarf with pockets

Hi knitters! I hope you are all having a good start to your summer. We are having our next meeting Wednesday, June 8, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making a scarf with pockets. You need to bring: Machine washable worsted weight yarn:      3 ounces for the scarf      1 ounce for the pockets US 9 (5.5 mm) needles You can get the pattern HERE or I think we will have printed copies available at the meeting.  Judy from Shuttles will be at the meeting and will have some Encore yarn available for purchase. Encore is an acrylic-wool blend that is a great machine washable option for charity knits. (EDIT: THIS IS FOR THE JULY MEETING.) Meeting May 11: Sweaters

Hi all! Our next meeting will be Wednesday, May 11 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library (large meeting room on your right when you enter). May is traditionally our kid vest/sweater month. Roxana has donated a fun side-to-side bulky weight sweater pattern for us to use. You can find the pattern HERE , or we will have printed copies available at the meeting. You will need 450-500 yards of bulky weight machine washable yarn and a US 9 (5.5 mm) 24 or 32 inch circular needle. If you don't have enough bulky weight on hand, you can hold two strands of sport or DK weight together, or you can work on any of our past patterns, or any kids sweater or vest pattern you like. Here are a few that are all in worsted weight: Striped vest and hat set from 2021 (photo in this post ) Mosaic vest and hat set from 2020 (uses slip stitch/mosaic colorwork) Flax, a free pattern by Tin Can Knits (seamless, top-down raglan sweater) Hope to see you there!

April bears!

Bears by Roxana It's bear time! Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 13 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public library. We will be working on Roxana's bear pattern, which you can find HERE . We will also have printed copies available. You will need to bring worsted weight yarn and US 5 or 6 (3.75 or 4 mm) double pointed needles. You can use neutral colors (white, brown, gray, etc.) for a more realistic bear, or mix it up with a fun color.  If this pattern feels beyond your skill set, there will be help available at the meeting, or you are always welcome to make a hat - we can never have too many of those! My go-to recommendation for a free worsted-weight hat pattern is the Barley hat from Tin Can Knits.  Hope to see you there!
