April cables (or not)

Our next meeting will be this Wednesday, April 12, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. Our project is a child's hat that you can make with or without cables. You'll need about 2 ounces of worsted weight yarn, US size 7 or 8 (4.5-5mm) 16 inch circular and double point needles, a cable needle if you are working the cable version, and 8 stitch markers, one unique for the beginning of the round. You can find the pattern HERE . Hope you can make it!

March Bears

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, March 8, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making bears! You can find the pattern HERE . You will need to bring worsted weight yarn and US 5 or 6 (3.75 or 4 mm) double pointed needles. Hope you can make it!

February Meeting

Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 8, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making an earflap hat, a modification of Purl Soho's pattern. We've made this one before, and it's fun and easy and keeps ears covered better than most hats. You can find the pattern HERE . You will need about two ounces of machine washable worsted weight yarn and a circular needle in US #6, 7, or 8 (4-5mm), with double point needles in the same size for the final decreases. Remember that we have this meeting room reserved for the whole year, so you can mark your calendar for the second Wednesday of the month, same time and place all the way through December 2023.   Hope you can make it!

January Meeting

Happy New Year! Our first meeting of the year is this Wednesday, January 11, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. Our pattern this month is a child’s hat. Printed patterns will be available, or you can find it HERE . You will need to bring about two ounces of machine washable worsted weight yarn and a circular needle in US #7 or 8 (4.5 - 5mm). Please bring any knits you finished over the holidays and we will hopefully do a midwinter donation to Clinica. We have lots of winter left in Colorado. Hope to see you there!

Big holiday donation: Where our knits go

Hi all! Several volunteers from our group worked hard to sort and distribute our accumulated hats, scarves, mittens, sweaters, and bears from the year. Read through to the end to get our total counts of our knitted donations! This year our donations went to Sister Carmen, Clinica, and EFAA. If you'd like to know more about these organizations or offer them additional support, I have linked to each of them below.  First, from Giselle, who went to Sister Carmen :   I wanted to let you know that I took all of our knitting to Sister Carmen this afternoon. Between 1:00 and 5:00 everything was taken by participants with many, many thanks. Kids enjoyed choosing a hat and I helped a few homeless men choose a warm hat and a bulky ribbed cowl. Towards the end of the afternoon a woman came in with her two sons. They were both wearing dinosaur costumes/pajamas and were thrilled to be getting groceries. I had two green hats left that went with their outfits and they wer...

Dropoff only on Tuesday, 11/29 at 3:00

We will have a project dropoff at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library from 3:00-4:00 on Tuesday, November 29. This is a chance for you to bring in any finished projects before our pre-holiday donation to Clinica. Remember that you can also bring in children’s books (new or gently used) to include for Clinica to hand out. This won’t be a regular meeting to stay and knit - our next one of those is Wednesday, December 14. Happy Thanksgiving, and happy knitting!
