A stripey sweater for the refugee project

Hi everyone,

Roxana knit the sample pictured above with a self striping yarn, though she says the pattern is good for oddball knitting. And of course you can do a solid color if you like. She says that any questions about the pattern can be sent to Roxana.Bartlett@gmail.com, and please put "sweater" in the title so that she knows it's not spam.

When you finish a sweater for the refugee project (using this pattern or another one), please snap a photo and send it to me at amysantamaria@gmail.com so I can post it here and share it with the group. Please feel free to send me photos of hats too! Put "Boulder community knitting" in the title so I know it's not spam.

Sending you all good vibes to stay healthy and safe. I'm looking forward to the time when we can all meet again in person. Until then, please use this online space as a way to connect.

Reminder: meeting Wednesday at 4:00

Just a reminder that we will be meeting this Wednesday, August 18, 4:00 at Harlow Platts park by Viele Lake. The pattern is a modified version of the Swirl Hat, a favorite from Hat Bingo . I think it uses about 2 ounces of worsted weight yarn, preferable something machine washable, and a US 7 or 8 16 inch circular needle. Hope to see you there!

Reminder: Meeting at Harlow Platts Park Wednesday 4-6

Just a reminder: we will be meeting IN PERSON at Harlow Platts Park (by Viele Lake in South Boulder) from 4-6 on Wednesday. We'll have a spot to drop off finished projects and pick up the new pattern (you'll need to provide your own yarn). Remember we'll also be collecting sweaters for the refugee project. If you'd like to stay and knit, please bring a chair or blanket. We'll sit in small groups rather than in one large one. Hope to see you there!

September meeting and new signup for email notifications

Hi all,  Our next meeting will be Wednesday, September 14 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Boulder Public Library Meadows branch. We are making adult-size hats. You can choose from any of your favorite patterns, or you can try this ribbed one ( PATTERN HERE ), which is very stretchy to fit almost everyone. You will need about 2 ounces of machine washable worsted weight yarn and US 7 or 8 (4.5-5 mm) needles (16 inch circular and double points). Email notifications: I'm moving email notifications to Substack, which should fix the problems with people not getting emails before meetings. Everyone (even if you already subscribed) please go HERE to sign up, or you can email me at amysantamaria@gmail.com and I'll sign you up. If you know someone who hasn't been getting email notifications, please forward this on to them. I'll also collect emails at the next meeting for anyone who is having trouble. Upcoming Community Knitting dates: October 12, 2022 November 9, 2022 December 14, 20
