We're meeting outside September 16!

 Hi all,

I hope you've been holding up okay over this unusual summer. I have good news - we are going to meet in person again! We'll keep this as safe as possible - outdoors and distanced, with face coverings - but we understand that some high-risk folks may need to stay away. 

We will be meeting September 16 from 4-6PM at Harlow Platts park by Viele Lake in South Boulder. Some of us will try to snag a picnic table where you can drop off your finished projects. Please bring a camping chair or blanket to sit on and wear a face covering. If you'd just like to come by, drop off your projects, say hello, and head out, that's fine! And if you'd like to stay and knit a while, we will probably be sitting in small groups rather than one large group.

Please remember to bring any finished projects for Community Knitting and also any sweaters you've made for the Wales refugee project so that Eleri can send them on. If you'd like to contribute towards books for Clinica (which we'll send at the holidays), we will be collecting cash donations for that as well. We will be giving out copies of a hat pattern, and I will also post the pattern here.  And I'll share some links to free hat patterns that should help keep your needles busy this fall. Stay tuned for that.

I'll leave you with some photos of some hats from Laurels and SO MANY bears from Linda! These are going to make a lot of kids happy.

    I just subscribed, and would love to come to the meeting September 16 even though I'll be brand new. I'm just starting back knitting and hope to be contributing to your projects.

January meeting and announcing 24 in '24 challenge

 Hi knitters! Our next meeting is this Wednesday, January 10 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. In January we will be knitting the hat pictured here. March meeting canceled / Ways to connect

Hi everyone, After careful consideration, we decided to cancel our March meeting (next week). Many people in our group are at higher risk (over 60, other health issues), and we don't want to put anyone in danger. We are following the lead of schools, public buildings, churches, workplaces, and other gatherings in social distancing. This will give our healthcare workers their best chance to fight the Coronavirus and reduce its impact. We will reschedule our bears meeting, possibly in April, depending on how the situation is shaping up. But for now, let's find other ways to continue our sense of community and connectedness. I'm exploring several things but first I thought I'd share with you a few free hat patterns that you can try. January: new year and new cable hat

Hi knitters, Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! Our next meeting is this Wednesday, January 8, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library.  For January, we have a hat pattern from Barb.
