Hi knitters,
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, February 14 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We will be making a simple colorwork hat. If you're not up for stranded colorwork, you can always do the color panel as a simple stripe. You will need machine washable worsted weight yarn - about 120 yards for the main color and 20 yards each of two other colors - and a 16 inch circular needle and double point needles in US 7 or 8 (4.5-5 mm).
Here is the pattern (click to enlarge):
We also have 2 blanket squares for February. See this post for details about the blanket square project and the patterns for squares 1 and 2.
SQUARE 3: CHECKS
Cast on a multiple of 4 sts.
Rows 1 and 2: *(K2, P2), repeat from * to end.
Rows 3 and 4: *(P2, K2), repeat from * to end
Repeat these 4 rows until piece measures 10 inches from cast on, ending with a row 2 or 4. Bind off all sts in pattern.

Cast on any number of stitches.
Rows 1-5: K across.
Row 6: K2, P to last 2 sts, K2
