First meeting of 2026

Hi knitters,

Happy 2026! Our first meeting for this year is tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. We have a colorwork hat pattern for this month. You need worsted weight yarn in two colors and US 7 or 8 needles. If colorwork is not your thing, you can just work the 26 rows of the hat body all in one color or in stripes. Scroll down to see the pattern (and click on it to enlarge).

By the way, our counts for 2025 are in:

Hats: 1176

Sweaters: 5

Vests: 65

Scarves/cowls: 135

Mittens: 71

Bears: 121

Headbands: 10

Blankets: 2

Socks: 18

Booties: 16

Total: 1619 (up from 1390 last year)

Kits: 70

January meeting and announcing 24 in '24 challenge

Hi knitters! Our next meeting is this Wednesday, January 10 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. In January we will be knitting the hat pictured here. The pattern is below (click on it to enlarge), and you will need 50 g or 1.5 oz worsted weight yarn and US 8 (5 mm) 16 inch circulars and DPNs. I'd also like to announce a fun challenge for the year: 24 in '24! A while back, we worked on a project to make blankets for the local police to distribute to comfort people (especially children) involved in difficult and traumatic situations. A great group of people kept this going, and the Lafayette police are still receiving blankets to distribute. They said they can always use more blankets, so let's make that happen. Hi knitters, Happy New Year and welcome to 2025! Our next meeting is this Wednesday, January 8, from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. Two May vests

Hi knitters, Our next meeting is Wednesday, May 14 from 3:00 to 4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library. For May we have two vest patterns. One is a set with a coordinating vest and hat, and the other is the vest version of the side-to-side sweater we did a while back. Please see below for photos and patterns. There will also be paper copies of the patterns at the meeting. Hope you can make it!
