 Hi all, Our next meeting will be Wednesday, February 9 from 3:00-4:30 at the George Reynolds branch of the Boulder Public Library. Please note the location change. Hope you can make it! As a side note, who else is thrilled that our wonderful South Boulder branch library is back? Hooray!

 Hi knitters, A reminder that our next meeting is Wednesday, January 12. We will be meeting at a NEW TIME, from 3:00-4:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library.  The change was made to accommodate members of our group who have difficulty driving at night.  We will be making the checkerboard hat shown here. There won't be printed copies of the pattern at this meeting, so you will need to print it out ahead of time or have the link handy on your phone. You can find the pattern HERE . I hope you all are doing okay. I've been thinking hard about how we can help those in our community who have been affected by the Marshall fire. It's still very early in the process, and we should be mindful of donating material items that may not be needed yet. The Sister Carmen Community Center was asking for certain items earlier, but at the time I'm posting this, their website says that they are only asking for gift cards and financial donations. So as big as our hearts are...

Hi all,  I put this in a comment on my earlier post, but I figured I should make a new post with the information. Giselle is our representative with Sister Carmen Community Center, and they are helping people impacted by the fires. They can use a number of donated items:  hats mittens scarves blankets sleeping bags gift cards, especially to restaurants or Walmart Sister Carmen also welcomes monetary donations, which will pay for hotel rooms for people who need a place to stay. You can find out more at their website. HERE Please no food or bottled water at this time, but check their website for updates, as what is needed will change over time. You can drop off donations directly to Sister Carmen Community Center or contact Giselle at livelively@comcast.net and make arrangements to drop them off at her house in Lafayette.  Please feel free to comment below with other ways to help. My heart is breaking as I see the devastation from the fires in Boulder County. Thinking of our friends in Louisville and beyond. Please reach out to me personally (amysantamaria@gmail.com) if there's any way I can help, even if you just need someone to talk to. If anyone knows of volunteer opportunities, please feel free to share them here in the comments.  Friends who are displaced, who may have lost your homes, know that your community is here to support you and get you through this.

    Our final finished item collection for the year will be Sunday, November 28 from 2-3 at Viele Lake/Harlow Platts Park in South Boulder. If you want to donate new children's books (or money for children's books), this will also be the final collection for them this year. If you want your finished items to be included in our big holiday donations, you'll need to make this dropoff time or make arrangements with Roylene for an alternate dropoff.    Our December meeting will be for planning purposes. All are welcome to attend, but we do not have a project for the meeting. It is Wednesday, December 8 from 5-6:30 at the Meadows branch of the Boulder Public Library.    Missed November's meeting?
